BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 12. The number of passengers arriving at Adnan Menderes International Airport in Izmir grew by eight percent to 738,670 people in January this year, the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure of Türkiye said, Trend reports.
The ministry's data showed that in January 2024, the airport's passenger turnover for domestic flights increased by two percent to 546,218 people and for international flights by 30 percent to 192,452 people.
The airport's cargo turnover in the reporting month amounted to 9,705 tons, an increase of 10 percent compared to the same month in 2022.
Meanwhile, the airport's cargo turnover for domestic flights rose by 9 percent year-on-year to 6,515 tons, and for international flights - by 12 percent to 3,189 tons.
The number of flights from the airport in January this year grew by five percent compared to the same month in 2022 and amounted to 5,510. At the same time, the number of domestic flights increased by three percent (to 3,586) and international flights by 31 percent (to 1,465).
Passenger transportation at all airports in Türkiye was 5.5 million people, and cargo turnover was 55,335 tons in the reporting month.
The passenger flow of all airports in Türkiye was 214.59 million people, and cargo turnover - 4.2 million tons in 2023.
