The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has warned the country's citizens about the complex situation in Japan . The ministry urged them to opt against trips to the country .
Following the devastating earthquake in Japan and the tsunami on March 11 , the country has faced an emergency situation and danger of radiation .
Azerbaijani citizens facing problems in the country are recommended to appeal the Azerbaijani Embassy in Tokyo , the ministry reported.
The death toll in Japan has reached to 6,539 people, the Kyodo news agency reported.
Several Azerbaijani citizens temporarily residing and studying in Japan have already left the country and returned home after the natural disaster, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Japan Azer Huseyn told Trend.
The embassy provided them with the necessary assistance, he said.
The diplomatic mission has already appealed to Azerbaijani students in Japan and stated about its readiness to provide the necessary assistance to them to return home.
Huseyn said over 50 Azerbaijani citizens temporarily live and study in Japan. A bout 30 live in Tokyo.
He said no Azerbaijani citizens were killed.
