ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 5. Kazakhstan and France signed documents worth $2.2 billion, Trend reports.
The 13th meeting of the Kazakh-French Business Council between the two countries saw the signing of 24 documents, 12 of which were interagency agreements and 12 of which were commercial agreements.
The 13th meeting of the Kazakhstan-French Business Council took place in Paris as part of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev's state visit to France, with the goal of fostering trade and investment relations between the two nations.
The Council aims to create new opportunities for investment and trade, the development of strategic industries, as well as the exchange of best practices and technologies between the two countries.
The event was attended by the Minister of Industry and Construction of Kazakhstan Kanat Sharlapaev, Minister of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan Zhaslan Madiev, Manager of the International Financial Center “Astana” Renat Bekturov , Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Gabidulla Ospankulov, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to France Gulsara Arystankulova, Ambassador of France to Kazakhstan Sylvan Guioge and representatives of the business community of the two countries.
During his speech, Gabidulla Ospankulov spoke about the favorable investment climate of Kazakhstan, measures of state support, and invited French companies to implement projects in Kazakhstan.
"Today's meeting of the Kazakhstan-French Business Council is an important step toward creating a solid foundation for long-term cooperation. To date, the list of Kazakh-French joint projects includes 31 projects worth $4.4 billion, said the Chairman of the Committee on Investments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.
Today Kasym-Jomart Tokayev arrived on a state visit to the French Republic. At the airport in Paris, the President of Kazakhstan was met by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of France Jean-Noel Barrot. Tomorrow in the Elysee Palace will be held negotiations of the Head of State Kasym-Jomart Tokayev with the President of France Emmanuel Macron.
