BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 13. Azerbaijani consumers spent 643.7 million manat ($378.6 million) on electrical goods and furniture from January through March 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Statistical Committee indicates that this marks a significant increase of 31.9 million manat ($18.7 million) or 5.2 percent compared to the same period last year.
Moreover, the total value of electrical goods and furniture sold amounted to 611.8 million manat ($359.8 million) in the first quarter of 2024. The share of these goods in the total retail trade turnover stood at 4.5 percent.
Meanwhile, in the first quarter, retail sales in Azerbaijan amounted to 14.6 billion manat ($8.5 million), including 8.1 billion manat ($4.7 million) in food products, beverages, and tobacco products, and 6.5 billion manat ($3.8 million)in non-food items. Compared to the same period in 2024, retail trade turnover saw a real increase of 3.8 percent, with food products, beverages, and tobacco showing a rise of 1.7 percent, and non-food goods increasing by 6.3 percent.
