BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 16. Azerbaijan produced 3,600 tons of cotton yarn in the first quarter of 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Statistical Committee indicates that this figure is 670 tons, or 15.8 percent, lower compared to the same period of 224 (4,200 tons).
Meanwhile, the volume of finished cotton yarn reserves in Azerbaijan stood at 4,700 tons as of April 1, 2025.
To note, during the reporting period, the combined output of Azerbaijan's textile, apparel, leather and leather product, and footwear manufacturing sectors was 143.8 million manat ($84.5 million).
Compared to the same period last year, there was a 23.7 percent increase in the production of leather and leather goods and footwear and a 15.6 percent growth in the textile industry, but a 45.3 percent decrease in clothing production.
