TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, May 15. A working meeting was held at the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan with officials from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan to discuss regional water and energy systems and joint projects, Trend reports.
The meeting was attended by Uzbekistan’s Minister of Energy, Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Water Resources, Shavkat Khamraev, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Energy, Yerlan Akkenzhenov, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Nurzhan Nurzhigitov, Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Energy, Taalaibek Ibraev, and other senior officials.
During the discussions, the ministers addressed measures to ensure the stable operation of the water and energy networks across the three countries during the upcoming summer period. They also agreed on the operational schedules for the energy systems.
The meeting also included a review of joint projects, including the current progress of the Kambarata-1 Hydroelectric Power Station construction and the coordination of the water-energy balance.
At the end of the meeting, a protocol was signed, and the ministers reached an agreement on coordinating future activities and further collaboration in the near term.
