BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 12. The possibilities of expanding cooperation between the business circles of Azerbaijan and Chile were discussed during a meeting with the Chargé d'Affaires of the Chilean Embassy.
This was reported by the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of Azerbaijan - AZPROMO.
Thus, a meeting was held at AZPROMO with the Chargé d'Affaires of the Chilean Embassy in Azerbaijan, Juan Carlos Salazar Alvarez.
During the meeting, Deputy Executive Director of AZPROMO, Tural Hajili, briefed on the agency's activities, the business and investment environment of our country, as well as the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum planned to be held in September this year. An agreement was reached between the parties to ensure the participation of Chilean companies and relevant institutions in the forum.
The meeting included an exchange of views on the prospects for the development of economic and trade relations between Azerbaijan and Chile, as well as the priority areas of mutual interest. Opportunities for expanding relations between the business circles of the two countries and implementing future joint initiatives were discussed.
Earlier, Alvarez told reporters that Chile and Azerbaijan are developing effective cooperation on multilateral platforms.
"We have established quite effective cooperation on the multilateral agenda. We are currently striving to develop bilateral trade—this is our main goal for the current year. We are purchasing some technologies for companies from Azerbaijan, as well as medicines. For our part, we would like to increase supplies of our products, including fish, especially salmon, and fruit—both fresh and dried," the diplomat noted.
He pointed out that Chile and Azerbaijan cooperated within the framework of the Non-Aligned Movement, as well as during COP29.
According to the diplomat, the main focus is currently on increasing bilateral trade turnover.
