ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 17. KazMunayGas increased the total volume of hydrocarbon processing by 11.1 percent to 5.14 million tons in the first quarter of 2025, Trend reports via KazMunayGas.
According to the company’s Q1 2025 production results, Kazakh oil refineries recorded a 2.8 percent increase, reaching 3.72 million tons.
The growth is attributed to uninterrupted operations at all refineries, including the Shymkent Refinery (PetroKazakhstan Oil Products), which was undergoing maintenance during the same period last year.
A particularly notable increase was seen at the Romanian refineries of KMG International – Petromidia and Vega. Their combined processing volume rose by 40.7 percent (to 1.41 million ton), due to more stable operational performance and the absence of downtime for maintenance, unlike the previous year.
