BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 21. Azerbaijan imported 16,600 tons of meat from January through April 2025, spending around $34 million.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Customs Committee indicates this reflects a slight decrease in imports by 76 tons, or 0.5 percent, and a reduction of $2.5 million, or 6.8 percent, compared to the same period last year.
Meanwhile, Azerbaijan imported 16,700 tons of meat valued at $36.5 million in the first 4 months.
In contrast, domestic meat production, including poultry, reached about 192,300 tons live weight, marking an increase of 2,200 tons or 1.2 percent compared to 2024 (190,100 tons).
