ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 26. The capacity of the railway section over 800 km long from Kazakhstan to China will increase fivefold in June 2025, which will happen two years earlier than planned, Trend reports, citing Kazakhstan Railways.
According to the information, Kazakhstan is commissioning the
second track on the Dostyk – Moyinty railway section, which is 836
kilometers long, and the capacity will increase from 12 to 60 train
pairs per day.
"Considering the strategic importance of the project and the high
pace of construction and installation works, traffic on the second
tracks will be launched already in June. This is two years earlier
than the scheduled construction deadline," Kazakhstan Railways
stated.
To note, commencement of construction and installation operations
on the designated segment initiated in the early part of 2023.
