Some $516.97 million worth of goods including oil and gas, were exported from the customs zone of Iran's central Markazi province in the first six months of the current Iranian calendar year which started March 21, director of Markazi province's customs organisation said on Tuesday.
"The figure shows a 63 per cent increase compared to the same period of the previous year," the IRNA News Agency quoted Mehdi Amirashrafi as saying.
He went on to note that some 457,933 tons of non-oil goods were exported from the province in the same period which is 182 per cent more than same time span of the previous year.
The province's non-oil export value in the period stood at 404.02 million dollars which is 106 per cent more than the previous year," Amirashrafi added.
"30 countries including Azerbaijan, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Italy, China, Romania, Sweden, Oman, Lebanon, Hungary, Egypt, Qatar, and India were the main destinations for the province's exported items," he said.
According to Amirashrafi, some 27,162 tons of goods worth $75.99 million were also imported to the Markazi province in the same period.
"Austria, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Ukraine, Spain, Denmark, Greece, Malaysia, and France were the main exporters of goods to the province," he concluded.
