The Parviz Khan border customs in Kermanshah Province (western Iran) has resumed operations today (May 25), the governor of Qasr-e Shirin County of Kermanshah Province Moradali Tatar told IRNA Trend reports.
The COVID-19 threat, the following closure of borders and the Ramadan Holiday resulted in slowdown of the entire trade, yet the countries continue to find ways to continue to the vital trade.
Tatar said that at present, Iranian products are exported to Iraq through the Parviz Khan border customs, as 1,500 trucks a day cross the border into Iraq from Iran.
Tatar added that the exported products via the border customs were mainly fruits, vegetables and food products.
The Qasr-e Shirin county of Kermanshah Province (western Iran) has a population of more than 27,000. The county shares a 186-kilometer border with Iraq and Khosravi and Parviz Khan border customs operate in the province.
About 54 percent of Iran's non-oil exports to Iraq are carried out through the Parvizkhan border customs.
The Iran exported $259 million worth of products to Iraq. Iraq's share in Iran's exports was 15.7 percent, this is a decrease of 3.6 percent in the first month (March 20-April 19, 2020), compared to the same month last Iranian year.
