BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 21. The top three provinces in Iran’s non-oil trade turnover by value in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023) were Hormozgan, Khuzestan, and Tehran, respectively, said Mohammad Rezvanifar, director general of Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Trend reports.
He revealed that these three provinces accounted for about $40.7 billion of Iran’s total non-oil trade turnover of $74.1 billion in the same period.
Rezvanifar also stated that Hormozgan Province had the highest non-oil trade turnover with $21.9 billion, followed by Khuzestan Province with $9.65 billion and Tehran Province with $9.2 billion.
He added that other provinces had significant shares in Iran’s non-oil trade turnover as well. For instance, Bushehr Province had a non-oil trade turnover of about $8.84 billion, Kermanshah Province had $2.39 billion, West Azerbaijan Province had around $2.35 billion, Kerman Province had $2.12 billion.
Furthermore, he mentioned that East Azerbaijan Province had a non-oil trade turnover of $2.02 billion, Gilan Province had $1.88 billion and Mazandaran Province had $1.78 billion.
According to him, Iran’s non-oil trade with the world increased by 7.2 percent in value and 22.6 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
Overall, Iran’s non-oil trade with the world for the first eight months of this year was $74.1 billion, involving about 115 million tons of goods. This was an increase of 7.2 percent in value and 22.6 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
