BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 5. Iran's aluminum ingot production by four local companies in three months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through June 20, 2024) amounted to 169,141 tons, Trend reports via Iran's Mines and Mines Development and Modernization Organization (IMIDRO).
According to IMIDRO, this figure fell 1.3 percent compared to the same period last year (March 21 through June 21, 2023) when 166,986 tons of aluminium were produced.
In the reporting period of 2024, 71,363 tons of produced aluminium ingots accounted for Southern Aluminum Company, 46,670 tons for Iran Aluminum Company, 41,703 tons for Al-Mahdi Aluminum Company, and 9,405 tons for Iran Alumina Company.
Iran Alumina Company produced 57,639 tons of aluminum oxide, 97,746 tons of bauxite, and 180,448 tons of aluminum hydroxide during the past three months.
Meanwhile, Iran's annual aluminum ingot production potential is about 700,000 tons.
To note, in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024), four aluminum companies in Iran produced a total of 635,597 tons of aluminum ingots. However, in the previous year (from March 21, 2022, through March 20, 2023), the four companies produced 632,166 tons of aluminum ingots.
