Azerbaijan boosts gas output from Shah Deniz field

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 11. Azerbaijan produced 25.1 bcm of gas from January to June 2024, up from 24.1 bcm in the same period in 2023, Trend reports, citing the Azerbaijani Energy Ministry.

Of this total, 14 bcm was produced at the Shah Deniz field on the Azerbaijani Caspian shelf, compared to 13.2 bcm in the first half of 2023.

The Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) field block produced 6.5 bcm of associated gas, the same as in the first half of 2023.

SOCAR produced 3.8 bcm of gas, down from 4.4 bcm.

The Absheron field produced 0.8 bcm of gas in the first half of the year. Since Absheron only started producing in July 2023, there is no comparative data.

Azerbaijan expects to produce over 49 bcm of gas in 2024, up from 48.5 bcm in 2023.
