BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 29. Azerbaijan secured its place among Türkiye’s top three natural gas suppliers in November 2024, with a significant increase in export volumes, Trend reports via Türkiye’s Energy Markets Regulatory Authority (EPDK).
Türkiye imported 970.16 million cubic meters of gas from Azerbaijan in November 2024, marking a 41.44 percent increase compared to 685.89 million cubic meters in November 2023. This positioned Azerbaijan as Türkiye’s second-largest pipeline gas supplier after Russia, surpassing Iran in monthly supply.
During the same period, Türkiye imported 853.82 million cubic meters from Iran, reflecting a 25.09 percent rise from 682.58 million cubic meters in November 2023. Russia remained Türkiye’s top supplier, exporting nearly 2.729 billion cubic meters, an 18.48 percent increase from the previous year.
Overall, Türkiye’s natural gas imports reached 5.806 billion cubic meters in November 2024, up 30.95 percent from 4.434 billion cubic meters in November 2023. Pipeline gas imports totaled 4.553 billion cubic meters, a 27.46 percent increase, while LNG imports surged by 45.43 percent, reaching 1.253 billion cubic meters.
