BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 29. Azerbaijan has maintained its position among the top three pipeline gas suppliers to Türkiye in March 2025, Trend reports citing the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) of Türkiye.
In March 2025, Türkiye imported over 1.043 billion cubic meters of natural gas from Azerbaijan, marking a 2.20 percent increase compared to nearly 1.021 billion cubic meters in March 2024. Azerbaijan ranked second among pipeline gas suppliers to Türkiye, following the Russian Federation, and surpassed the Islamic Republic of Iran in monthly supply volumes.
During the same period, Türkiye imported 561.10 million cubic meters of natural gas from Iran - almost 2.3 times more than the 247.50 million cubic meters imported in March 2024. The Russian Federation remained Türkiye’s largest gas supplier, exporting nearly 1.791 billion cubic meters in March 2025, compared to approximately 1.807 billion cubic meters a year earlier.
Overall, Türkiye’s total natural gas imports in March 2025 reached more than 6.996 billion cubic meters, representing a 35.91 percent increase from about 4.412 billion cubic meters in March 2024. Pipeline gas imports stood at approximately 3.395 billion cubic meters (up by 10.40 percent), while liquefied natural gas (LNG) imports surged by 94.60 percent, reaching 2.601 billion cubic meters.
