BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 20. Azerbaijan sent a whopping 827.7 million tons of crude oil and petroleum products, straight from the heart of bituminous rocks, to Croatia, raking in a cool $450.3 million from January to July 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Customs Committee (SCC) indicates that this represents a decrease of 39 million tons, or 4.5 percent in volume terms, and a drop of $96.4 million, or 17.6 percent in value terms compared to the same period in 2024 (866.7 million tons, $547.2 million).
Meanwhile, Azerbaijan’s total foreign trade turnover during the first seven months reached almost $28.8 billion, reflecting an increase of 7.25 percent year-on-year. Of this amount, exports accounted for $15.2 billion, while imports stood at $13.6 billion. Exports fell by 5.4 percent compared to the same period last year, while imports surged by 26.1 percent. Consequently, the positive foreign trade balance narrowed to $1.6 billion, 3.3 times lower than the previous year.
