BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 21. Azerbaijan exported crude oil and petroleum products derived from bituminous rocks to Bulgaria, totaling 79.3 million tons valued at $48.2 million from January through July 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan
indicates that in the previous fiscal year, there was a complete
absence of Azerbaijani hydrocarbon exports directed towards the
Bulgarian market.
In the initial seven-month period, Azerbaijan engaged in
international commerce totaling $28.8 billion, reflecting a 7.25
percent increase compared to the previous fiscal year. The export
segment constituted $15.2 billion of the aggregate, whereas the
import sector reached a total of $13.6 billion. In a year-over-year
analysis, the export metrics experienced a contraction of 5.4
percent, while the import figures demonstrated a significant
escalation of 26.1 percent.
The trade balance yielded a favorable $1.6 billion, reflecting a
3.3-fold contraction relative to the corresponding timeframe of the
previous fiscal year.
