BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 17. Azerbaijan exported 841,900 tons of crude oil and bitumen-derived petroleum products to Germany, worth $445.3 million, from January through August 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan indicates that this represents an increase of $38.9 million, or 9.6 percent, in value and 223,500 tons, or 36.1 percent, in volume compared to the same period in 2024.
Meanwhile, exports to Germany totaled 618,000 tons worth $406.3 million in the first half of last year. During this period, Germany ranked fourth among the countries importing the largest volumes of Azerbaijani oil.
To note, crude oil and petroleum products containing bitumen worth $8.3 billion and totaling 15.9 million tons were exported from Azerbaijan to 20 countries from January through August this year. According to the figures, this is $1.9 billion, or 18.5 percent less in value, and 551,050 tons, or 3.3 percent less in volume, compared to the same period in 2024.
