ASTANA, Kazakhstan, August 24. The state and people of Kazakhstan are moving forward together, the chairman of the TURKPA Commission on Legal Affairs and International Relations and member of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, Osman Mesten, said, Trend's special correspondent reports.
The official made the statement to reporters on the sidelines of Kurultai elections in Astana.
“The elections in Kazakhstan were conducted in accordance with the law and in an orderly manner. We also observed that the citizens of Kazakhstan, from the youngest, starting at age 18, to the elderly, actively participated in the elections despite yesterday’s weather conditions. Voter turnout exceeded 70%.
This is a good example of how the state of Kazakhstan, together with its people, is moving forward on a common path.
I hope these elections will bring benefit and prosperity to the state and people of Kazakhstan,” he said.
Mesten noted that the delegation conducted its observation not only in Astana but also in Almaty. In addition, the delegation has been here for four days since its arrival. During this time, it held meetings and discussions with the Central Election Commission, regional election commissions, all political parties, and relevant government agencies.
“Our delegation has reached a consensus that the elections in Kazakhstan were conducted in accordance with the country’s Constitution, national legislation, and international legal standards,” he stated.
