ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, July 9. Farmers of the Balkan region located in the west of Turkmenistan plan to receive 52,400 tons of melons and watermelons this year, Trend reports.
According to official data, this volume of watermelons and melons in the region this year is planned to be harvested from a total area of 2,620 hectares.
All the harvested agricultural products of the Balkan region will be sold not only in the region but also throughout Turkmenistan.
Meanwhile, in recent years, Turkmenistan's agricultural sector has undergone significant development due to the introduction of modern technologies, infrastructure improvements, and support for government programs.
The introduction of effective irrigation methods, the development of mechanization, and the introduction of high-yielding crop varieties contributed to an increase in agricultural production, providing the country with food security and sustainable export potential.
