ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, August 3. In Turkmenistan, residential buildings with a total area of 454,000 square meters were commissioned in the first six months of 2024, Trend reports.
This information was announced during an extended meeting of the Turkmen Cabinet of Ministers, which reviewed the results of the first half of 2024.
It was noted that the construction sector achieved one of the highest GDP growth rates in January–June this year, at 9.3 percent. During this period, capital investments in the country amounted to 15.42 billion manats ($4.4 billion), which is 21 percent higher compared to the same period last year.
The report highlighted that new enterprises for the production of competitive, high-quality products were established, and numerous industrial facilities were put into operation during the first half of the year.
The development of the construction and industrial sector has been set as a key state program, including the President of Turkmenistan's Program for the Socio-Economic Development of the Country for 2022–2028 and the National Program for the Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan for 2022–2052.
