TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, January 6. Azerbaijan was the largest importer of Uzbek carpets, purchasing 2.103 million square meters of carpets from January through November 2024.
The data obtained by Trend from the country’s Statistics Agency shows that Uzbekistan exported 7.323 million square meters of carpets worth $21.8 million from January through November 2024.
At the same time, Kyrgyzstan imported 1.991 million square meters of carpets, Afghanistan - 1.226 million square meters, Russia - 989,000 square meters, Kazakhstan - 649,000 square meters, and other countries with a combined total of 365,000 square meters.
Meanwhile, trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan amounted to over $223.9 million from January through November 2024. This figure represents a 38.6 percent increase compared to the previous year, when trade turnover was valued at $161.5 million.
Uzbekistan imported products worth $37 million from Azerbaijan during the reporting period, while the country's exports to Azerbaijan amounted to $186.9 million.
