BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 11. Uzbekistan and PwC Consulting have discussed expanding cooperation in geology and critical minerals, as well as digital transformation and the adoption of artificial intelligence technologies.

This was reflected in the statement by the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology of Uzbekistan following a meeting between First Deputy Minister of Mining and Geology F. Khamidova and PwC Consulting representative David Goginashvili.

The two sides reviewed potential areas for cooperation in the development of Uzbekistan's geological sector and the exploration and processing of critical minerals.

Particular attention was also given to digital transformation and the introduction of artificial intelligence technologies, which could support more efficient geological research, data analysis and resource management.

"The parties expressed their readiness to further expand cooperation and implement joint projects," the ministry said.

The discussions come as Uzbekistan seeks to strengthen the development of its critical minerals sector while integrating advanced technologies into geological exploration and mining activities. Digital tools and AI could play an increasing role in processing geological data, identifying mineral resources and improving the efficiency of exploration and related operations.

The sides agreed to continue cooperation and explore opportunities for implementing joint initiatives in the sector.
