Iran's non-oil trade turnover with Tajikistan grows

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 23. Iran's trade turnover with Tajikistan increased by 35.5 percent in value and 35.3 percent in weight in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024) compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration said, Trend reports.

According to the statistics, Iran's non-oil trade turnover with Tajikistan last year amounted to 354,000 tons worth about $339 million.

However, Iran's trade turnover with Tajikistan during the same period of the previous year amounted to 262,000 tons worth $250 million.

The statistics note that petrochemical products, steel products, agricultural and food products, cotton, silk fabric, and various equipment were mainly exchanged with Tajikistan during the mentioned period.

The information indicates that Iran's trade turnover between the two countries for the 12th month of the last Iranian year (from February 20 through March 19, 2024) amounted to 39,400 tons worth $41 million.

To note, according to the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration, the country's non-oil trade turnover during 10 months of the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023 through January 20, 2024) was about 146 million tons worth $94.8 billion.
