BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 3. The volume of wheat purchased from farmers under the guarantee in Iran's north-eastern Golestan province grew by 67 percent from April 10 to date, Trend reports via the country's State Trading Company.
According to the company, 360,000 tons of wheat were purchased from farmers in Golestan province during the mentioned period.
The company said that 98 purchase centers are planned for the purchase of wheat from farmers in Golestan province.
Additionally, the company pointed out that according to the calculations, it's estimated that more than one million tons of wheat will be taken from 386,000 hectares in Golestan province in the current Iranian year (March 20, 2024 through March 20, 2025).
Meanwhile, Iran plans to harvest wheat from six million ha this year. Of this area, two million ha are normal, and four million ha are cultivated lands.
To note, in the current Iranian year, one kg of wheat in Iran is purchased under the guarantee of the State Trading Company for 175,000–180,000 rials (about $4.17–$4.3).
