ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 29. Kazakhstan is seeing positive trends in the growth of investments in the development of railway engineering, as well as the creation of new production and service facilities, Trend reports.
Olzhas Bektanov, the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, made this statement during his visit to review the development of railway engineering, using an investment project by the American company Wabtec as an example.
The plant for assembling mainline diesel locomotives, "Lokomotiv Qurastiru Zauyty," produces up to 120 units per year. Since the commencement of production, the plant has assembled 611 locomotives. Marat Tleubaev, the company's president, informed the government head that the plant has mastered all key assembly components, with a current localization level of 75 percent. The total investment in the project amounts to $60 million. The plant has created 742 jobs.
In line with the President of Kazakhstan's task, the Prime
Minister noted that the implementation of such projects contributes
to Kazakhstan's emergence as a transport and logistics hub.
To note, today Prime Minister Olzhas Bektanov visited enterprises
in the city of Astana to familiarize himself with the development
of the metallurgy, light, and construction industries, as well as
the automotive and railway engineering sectors.
