BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 24. Uzbekistan’s state oil and gas company Uzbekneftegaz is expanding cooperation with Schlumberger (SLB) on digital transformation, AI, and advanced technologies aimed at improving the efficiency of oil and gas operations.
This was reflected in the statement by Uzbekneftegaz, following a meeting between Chairman Abdugani Sanginov and a delegation from SLB led by Li Dan, the company’s Vice President of Reservoir Performance for Asia.
According to Uzbekneftegaz, in the course of the meeting, the sides reviewed the current state of cooperation and prospects for expanding joint work on the deployment of modern technological solutions across Uzbekistan’s oil and gas sector.
''Particular attention was given to field management, geophysical research, digitalization, artificial intelligence, geological data modeling and data management. The companies also discussed proposals presented by Schlumberger and explored opportunities to implement them on mutually beneficial terms,'' the statement says.
Meanwhile, the cooperation is expected to focus on applying advanced technologies to improve production efficiency, strengthen geological exploration and enhance the management of oil and gas fields.
''Expanding practical cooperation, attracting advanced technologies and ensuring the effective implementation of existing projects are key priorities,'' Uzbekneftegaz says, citing Sanginov's remarks.
Furthermore, the Schlumberger representatives expressed readiness to continue cooperation with Uzbekneftegaz on technological solutions and projects aimed at improving operational efficiency and geological exploration capabilities.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to strengthen cooperation, continue negotiations on promising areas, and coordinate practical steps for implementing new initiatives.
The talks come as Uzbekistan continues efforts to modernize its oil and gas industry through digital technologies, data-driven solutions and international technological partnerships.
