ASTANA, Kazakhstan, January 18. Starting from February 1, 2025, liquefied gas prices will increase in Kazakhstan, Trend reports, citing the country's Ministry of Energy.
According to the information, prices in Astana and Almaty will
rise from 84 and 89 tenge (approximately $0.16 and $0.17) to 102
tenge (approximately $0.19) per liter. In Shymkent, the price will
increase from 70 tenge (approximately $0.13) to 90 tenge
(approximately $0.17) per liter. In other regions, the price
increase is expected to range from 6 to 20 tenge (approximately
$0.01 to $0.04) per liter.
The maximum retail price for this type of fuel will increase by
6-21 tenge ($0.011-$0.04). The maximum price will increase from
59–94 KZT (tenge) ($0.111-$0.177) to 65–107 tenge ($0.123-$0.202),
depending on the region.
The Ministry of Energy is transitioning to a sustainable pricing
model aimed at creating a market balance between supply and demand,
eliminating fuel shortages, stimulating modernization in the oil
refining sector, creating new jobs, and attracting long-term
investments.
Additionally, the price of liquefied petroleum gas in Kazakhstan remains one of the lowest among the CIS countries. According to the draft decree, the maximum wholesale price for liquefied gas will be increased from 45,158 tenge (approximately $85.80) to 51,932 tenge (approximately $98.67) per ton. Meanwhile, the maximum retail price will increase by 6 to 21 tenge (approximately $0.01 to $0.04), depending on the region. The published document is available for discussion until January 22.
