BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 8. The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) and the State Development Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic signed a memorandum to cooperate on projects aimed at supporting economic modernization and infrastructure development.
This was announced in a statement published by the press service of the EDB
According to the EDB, the memorandum was signed by Deputy Chairman of the Management Board Alexey Skatin and Chairman of the Management Board of the State Development Bank of Kyrgyzstan Emil Takyrbashev.
The information indicates that the sides intend to combine their expertise and capabilities to prepare and implement projects aimed at “modernization of the economy, infrastructure development, support for entrepreneurship and attracting investment.”
The cooperation will focus on expanding access to long-term financing, attracting investment into priority sectors and strengthening development institutions.
Skatin said cooperation with national development institutions is one of EDB's key areas of activity. “The memorandum with the State Development Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic creates a basis for joint preparation and implementation of projects contributing to sustainable economic growth, attracting investment and improving quality of life,” he said.
Meanwhile, the bank’s accumulated portfolio stood at 348 projects worth $22.1 billion as of the end of June 2026. Its portfolio is focused mainly on projects with an integration effect in transport infrastructure, digital systems, green energy, agriculture, industry and mechanical engineering.
The bank is implementing three megaprojects under its 2022-2026 Strategy: the Central Asia Water and Energy Complex, the Eurasian Transport Framework and the Eurasian Commodity Distribution Network.
