BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 19. Azerbaijan exported 100,400 tons of fruits and vegetables worth $109 million from January through February 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Customs Committee shows that the export value grew by $9.5 million, or 9.6 percent, and the volume by 13,300 tons, or 15.3 percent compared to the same period in 2024.
During the reporting period, the share of fruits and vegetables in total exports was 2.29 percent, and their weight in non-oil exports amounted to 22.47 percent.
Additionally, in the first two months of this year, Azerbaijan imported 88,100 tons of fruits and vegetables worth a total of $66 million, showing the value growth by $2.8 million, or 4.5 percent, but the volume decrease by 3,500 tons, or 3.8 percent year on year.
During the reporting period, the share of fruits and vegetables in total imports was 1.59 percent.
Thus, during the reporting period, fruit and vegetable exports exceeded imports by 1.6 times in value terms and 1.1 times in volume terms.
