BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 14. Azerbaijan's consumers spent a total of 2.2 billion manat ($1.2 billion) on textile products, clothing, and footwear from January through March 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Statistics Committee indicates that this represents an increase of 79.6 million manat ($46.8 million) or 3.8 percent compared to the same period last year.
The share of the textile, clothing, and footwear trade turnover accounted for 14.9 percent of the total retail trade.
Additionally, in the first quarter, retail sales in Azerbaijan amounted to 14.6 billion manat ($8.5 million), including 8.1 billion manat ($4.7 million) in food products, beverages, and tobacco products, and 6.5 billion manat ($3.8 million)in non-food items. Compared to the same period in 2024, retail trade turnover saw a real increase of 3.8 percent, with food products, beverages, and tobacco showing a rise of 1.7 percent, and non-food goods increasing by 6.3 percent.
