ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 16. National company KazMunayGas announced an increase in hydrocarbon production for the first quarter of 2025, Trend reports via KazMunayGas.
According to the company’s production results for Q1 2025, the volume of oil and gas condensate production reached 6.4 million tonnes (equivalent to 540,000 barrels per day), which is a 5.8 percent increase compared to the same period in 2024.
A significant increase was also recorded in natural and associated gas production — up 12.7 percent to 2,841 million cubic meters.
Moreover, the key growth driver was the launch of the Third Generation Plant at the Tengiz field, which began operations in January 2025 as part of the large-scale Future Growth Project. This enabled a 24.9 percent increase in oil production at Tengiz to 1.9 million tonnes, and a 25.8 percent rise in associated gas production to 1,055 million cubic meters.
These results underscore the strategic importance of investments in the modernization and expansion of existing assets and demonstrate the resilience of the company’s production segment amid market and technological challenges.
