BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 15. Mass harvest of grain and leguminous crops is nearing completion.

The data obtained by Trend from the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan shows that as of August 12, 924,400 hectares out of 939,100 hectares allocated for the harvest of winter and spring grain and leguminous crops (excluding corn) have been harvested — that is 98.4 percent.

As many as 2.97 million tons have been gathered from the fields, with an average yield of 32.1 centners per hectare. Wheat accounted for 1.58 million tons or 53.3 percent of the total production, barley - 1.35 million tons (45.4 percent), and other grain and leguminous crops — 39,100 tons (1.3 percent).

Harvesting of grain and leguminous crops (excluding corn) has been fully completed in 26 districts of the republic. In 30 districts, more than 90 percent of the planned area has been harvested, while in the remaining districts — less than 90 percent.

The highest yields were recorded in Hajigabul (51.4 centners per hectare), Aghjabadi (44.4 centners per hectare), Sabirabad (43.6), Samukh (43.1), Salyan (42.3), Barda (42.2), Aghdam (41.8), Tovuz (40.9), Saatli (40.2), Tartar (39.7), and Imishli (39.5) districts.

Production of grain and leguminous crops (excluding corn) was highest in comparison with other districts in Jalilabad (229,800 tons), Shaki (173,200 tons), Aghjabadi (154,300 tons), Fuzuli (138,900 tons), Kurdamir (121,500 tons), Hajigabul (107,500 tons), Bilasuvar (98,000 tons), and Ismayilli (95,700 tons) districts.
