The remaining cultivable areas are expected to be harvested in Kazakhstan by the end of October 2021, Trend reports citing the Kazakh Ministry of Agriculture.
As of October 22, grain and leguminous crops were harvested in Kazakhstan on an area of 15.8 million hectares, which is 99.7 percent of the total harvested area.
With an average yield of 10.2 centners per hectare, 16.1 million tons of grain were harvested, including 11.8 million tons of wheat.
Also collected 1.6 million tons of oilseeds, 3.8 million tons of potatoes, 4.6 million tons of vegetables and 2.6 million tons of melons.
In Akmola, Kostanay and North Kazakhstan regions, the main grain-sowing regions, an area of 11.6 million hectares was harvested, which is 100 percent of the total harvested area. With an average yield of 8.8 centners per hectare, 10.1 million tons are harvested.
The total storage capacity of grain in the republic is 29.4 million tons, including at grain-receiving enterprises - 12.8 million tons, at agricultural producers - 16.6 million tons. As of October 15, 3.5 million tons of grain have been shipped for storage.
Harvesting in Kazakhstan has generally been completed in projected volumes.
