BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 29. The installed capacity of bioenergy in Azerbaijan has remained largely unchanged over the past decade.
Data obtained by Trend from the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) indicates that Azerbaijan’s bioenergy capacity as of 2024 stood at 38 megawatts, the same level as in 2015.
A modest increase occurred between 2017 and 2018, when capacity rose from 43 to 45 megawatts, but this was followed by four years of stagnation. In 2023, the figure dropped by 15.6 percent, returning to 38 megawatts, where it held steady through 2024.
