BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 13. Over 6.75 billion cubic meters of gas were processed at the No. 1 processing plant of Iran's South Pars Gas Company during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through December 20, 2024), managing director of the plant, Ali Ahmadi, told reporters, Trend reports.
He explained that the plant produces an average of 27.5 million cubic meters of gas daily.
In addition to gas processing, the plant's output over the nine-month period included more than 5 million barrels of gas condensate, 25,000 tons of liquid sulfur, and 22,000 tons of solid sulfur. Furthermore, the plant produced approximately 227,000 liters of odorant during this time.
Ahmadi emphasized the plant's significant contribution to the country's gas production and related industries.
The national gas network receives the processed gas from Iran's South Pars Gas Company. Additionally, 450,000 barrels of gas condensate are sent daily to the company's condensate plant, while 120,000 barrels are supplied to the Nouri (previously Borzouyeh) Petrochemical company.
The South Pars Gas Field (called North Dome in Qatar) is a joint gas field between Iran and Qatar. The field holds an estimated 51 trillion cubic meters of gas reserves, with around 36 trillion cubic meters potentially recoverable. Iran’s share in this field is approximately 14 trillion cubic meters of gas and 18 billion barrels of gas condensate.
