BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, April 15. Kyrgyzstan's agricultural output hit the ground running, reaching a whopping 41.8 billion soms (around $477.9 million) in the first quarter of 2025, showing a 2.5 percent uptick compared to the same stretch in 2024, Trend reports via the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the country.
The growth — calculated in current prices — elevated the tangible volume index of aggregate agricultural output to 102.5 percent. As per the ministry's assessment, the favorable trajectory was predominantly propelled by a 2.5 percent uptick in livestock output.
In the meantime, early estimates indicate that industrial enterprises involved in agricultural processing have churned out food products, beverages, and tobacco goods valued at a whopping 22.76 billion soms ($260.2 million) during the first quarter of 2025. The volumetric index within this sector attained a remarkable 171 percent threshold.
In the specified timeframe, Kyrgyzstan achieved an export volume of 96,043 tons of agronomic outputs, encompassing a diverse array of produce such as horticultural specimens, pomological varieties, pulses, oleaginous seeds, and desiccated commodities.
