TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, March 26. Uzbekistan launched 47 projects totaling $4 billion in the Namangan region, Trend reports.
This was announced during Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's visit to the Namangan region.
Investors include companies from Russia, China, Türkiye, the UAE, France, Germany, Austria, Italy, the Netherlands, Iran, Pakistan, and other countries.
The projects cover various sectors such as construction materials, electrical engineering, chemical, textile, and food industries, pharmaceuticals, medicine, mining, fish farming, and others.
For example, it is planned to carry out copper mining and processing in cooperation with China in Chust district, organize the production and dyeing of synthetic fabric in cooperation with Pakistani investors in Turakurgan district, and provide equipment for a trauma center in cooperation with an Australian company.
The implementation of 47 projects will create more than 40,000 jobs.
In addition, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev was presented with 17 projects worth $2.3 billion.
The head of state held talks with each investor and project initiator. The economic efficiency of the projects was discussed, and the responsible persons were given instructions to speed up their implementation.
Meanwhile, Germany's Hyper Partners GmbH and Emirati Tepelen Group Holding Limited will build two solar power plants in Uzbekistan's Pop district, Namangan region.
