TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, July 26. Uzbekistan manufactured textile products worth 38.5 trillion soums ($3 billion) from January through June 2024, Trend reports.
According to the data from Uzbekistan’s Statistics Agency, this figure has increased by 15.6 percent year-on-year (33.3 trillion soums, or $2.6 billion in January–June 2023).
The share of manufactured textile products in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 12.5 percent.
At the same time, the production volume of clothing in Uzbekistan reached 13 trillion soums ($1 billion) during this period, which is 31.3 percent more than the same period last year (9.9 trillion soums, or $784 million in January–June 2023).
The share of clothing in the structure of the manufacturing industry reached 4.2 percent.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan exported textile products worth $1.5 billion from January through June 2024. This figure has decreased by 6.6 percent year-on-year ($1.6 billion in January–June 2023).
The exported textile products accounted for 11.8 percent of the total volume of exports in the country.
