Iran declares volume of non-oil exports from Kurdistan Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 10. The export of non-oil products from Kurdistan Province, located in western Iran, has increased by 33 percent in value terms and 2 percent in weight terms in the first 2 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through May 2024) compared to the same period last year (from March 21 through May 21, 2023), controller of customs in Iran's Kurdistan Province Faramarz Omidi said, Trend reports.

In just two months, he claims that non-oil products exported from the Kurdistan region were valued at about $981 million, for a total of 930,000 tons.

Omidi noted that mainly agricultural products, metal and rubber products, milk and dairy products, construction materials, tractors, and many others are exported from the province.

The official added that the products were exported mainly to Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, the UAE, Russia, Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Georgia, and Kuwait.

Iran's exports of non-oil products amounted to 23.5 million tons worth $8 billion during the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through May 20, 2024). Iran's non-oil exports increased by 3.8 percent in value and 8.5 percent in weight during the 2 months compared to the same period last year (from March 21 through May 21, 2023).
