Iran's Mercantile Exchange discloses its sales figures

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 13. A total of 2.71 million tons of products and 100 trucks worth 295 trillion rials (about $753 million) were sold at the Iranian Mercantile Exchange last Iranian week (from July 6 through 11), Trend reports via Mercantile Exchange.

The sales in the last Iranian week at the Mercantile Exchange decreased by 0.3 percent in value and increased by 17 percent in weight compared to the previous week (from June 29 through July 4).

Approximately 2.32 million tons of products worth 296 trillion rials (about $759 million) were sold at the Iranian Mercantile Exchange during the previous week (from June 29 through July 4).

During the past Iranian week, 2.11 million tons of products worth 173 trillion rials (about $442 million) were sold in the industrial-mining section of the Mercantile Exchange.

Iron ore, cement, steel, sponge iron, copper, aluminum, lead, molybdenum concentrate, and precious metal concentrate were mainly sold in this section of the exchange.

Furthermore, during the mentioned period, 421,000 tons of products worth 95 trillion rials (about $242 million) were sold in the petrochemical products section of the Mercantile Exchange.

Vacuum buttons, bitumen, polymer materials, lube cuts, chemicals, slaps, wax, gas, etc. were mainly sold in this section of the exchange.

The sub-market of the Mercantile Exchange sold 21,600 tons of products worth 3.85 trillion rials (about $9.83 million).

To note, the Iran Mercantile Exchange operates to provide many products and set prices. The price of products at the exchange is determined based on supply and demand. The Organization of Exchanges and Securities of Iran advocates the wholesale sale of strategically important products through the Mercantile Exchange.
