BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 12. Iran's South Pars Gas Company increased its gas supply to the national network by 2 percent during the eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through November 20, 2024), compared to the same period last year (from March 21 through November 21, 2023), Executive Director of South Pars Gas Company Gholamabbas Hosseini told journalists, Trend reports.

Speaking at a press conference held in Tehran on December 24, Hosseini noted that the South Pars Gas Company has supplied over 157 billion cubic meters of gas to the national gas network during the reporting period.

The official highlighted that gas currently constitutes 75 percent of the country's energy mix, with 70 percent of the nation's gas being processed at the South Pars Gas Complex.

Hosseini also noted that the company delivers around 582 million cubic meters of gas to the national network daily. However, due to the cold weather and a drop in temperatures, the company has increased its processing capacity to 591 million cubic meters per day.

The national gas network receives the processed gas from Iran's South Pars Gas Company. Additionally, 450,000 barrels of gas condensate are sent daily to the company's condensate plant, while 120,000 barrels are supplied to the Nouri (previously Borzouyeh) Petrochemical company.

The South Pars Gas Field (called North Dome in Qatar) is a joint gas field between Iran and Qatar. The field holds an estimated 51 trillion cubic meters of gas reserves, with around 36 trillion cubic meters potentially recoverable. Iran’s share in this field is approximately 14 trillion cubic meters of gas and 18 billion barrels of gas condensate.
