BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 15. Iran's South Pars Gas Company (SPGC) has produced more than 16 bcm of sweet natural gas at its eighth Refinery since the beginning of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through February 13, 2025), which has been supplied to the national gas network, the head of the Refinery, Hadi Chabuk, told reporters, Trend reports.
Chabuk added that during the mentioned period, the plant produced 252,000 tons of butane, 458,000 tons of propane, and 685,000 tons of sulfur.
He emphasized that the South Pars Gas Company provides a significant portion of the country’s gas consumption. The company’s refining plants are operating at maximum capacity.
To note, the South Pars gas field, jointly owned by Iran and Qatar, processes gas from the 20th and 21st phases of the field at this particular plant. This facility has the capacity to produce up to 50 million cubic meters of sweet gas daily, along with 75 thousand barrels of gas condensate, 400 tons of sulfur, 1.05 million tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and 1 million tons of ethane annually.
Additionally, the 10th refinery of Iran’s South Pars Gas Company processes rich gas extracted from the 19th phase of the South Pars gas field. The refinery has the capacity to produce 50 million cubic meters of sweet gas, 77,000 barrels of gas condensate, 2,400 tons of ethane, 1,800 tons of propane, 1,100 tons of butane, and 320 tons of sulfur per day.
