BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 9. Fish and fish product exports from Mazandaran province in northern Iran have increased by 60 percent in the 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through February 18, 2025) compared to the same period last year (from March 21, 2023, through February 19, 2024), Hamza Aghapour Kazemi, the head of the Veterinary Department of Mazandaran, told reporters, Trend reports.

The official explained that during this period, a total of 11,400 tons of fish and fish products were exported from Mazandaran to countries in the European Union (EU) and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

Kazemi further stated that the province exported 600 tons of live fish, 600 tons of frozen fish, 3 tons of caviar, and 4,800 tons of fish feed during this time.

The official emphasized that all fish farming facilities are able to engage in fish exports without any restrictions, provided they have the necessary health and medical certifications. The increase in fish exports reflects the planned simplifications in export procedures.
