BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 1. Iran plans to start production from the Tus gas field in Razavi Khorasan Province in the northeast of the country by late January 2025, said Mohammad Sadegh Mehrjou, Head of the Technical Department at the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC), Trend reports.
In a dialogue with the press, Mehrjou emphasized that the
expedited initiation of production at this location is being
prioritized. He indicated that the daily gas production metrics
from the field are projected to attain a throughput of 3 million
cubic meters during the preliminary phase of operations.
The Tus reservoir is situated in the northeastern quadrant of the
Mashhad metropolis, adjacent to the Khangiran and Gonbadli
hydrocarbon fields, with its discovery dating back to 2009. It is
anticipated that, subsequent to capital infusions approximating
$200 million, operational throughput may escalate to 5 million
cubic meters per diem.
The Central Oil Fields Company functions across a spectrum of
eleven provinces within Iran, managing a portfolio of 84 oil and
gas fields. To date, a total of 13 hydrocarbon reservoirs for gas
and an equivalent number for oil have been successfully brought
into production. The enterprise's peak throughput capability is
approximately 250,000 barrels of crude oil alongside 250 million
cubic meters of gaseous hydrocarbons on a daily basis.
