BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 2. Iran’s mining industry posted notable export growth in the first month of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through April 20, 2025), climbing by 22.7 percent in value and 18.7 percent in weight compared to the same period last year (from March 20 through April 19, 2024).
Data obtained by Trend from the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) indicates that the country exported 5.24 million tons of mining products worth $844 million in total, up from 4.41 million tons valued at $688 million in the previous year.
Iran’s key export items included steel, aluminum, and copper, which collectively accounted for $651 million and 3.43 million tons. The export of these three commodities increased by 24 percent in value and 54 percent in weight year-on-year.
