BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 20. Iran’s imports of goods from Kyrgyzstan have seen a notable decline of 32 percent in value and 36.3 percent in weight in the first 2 months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through May 21, 2025), compared to the same period last year (from March 20 through May 20, 2024).
Data obtained by Trend from the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) indicates that Iran imported $572,000 worth of goods weighing around 280 tons from Kyrgyzstan.
Concurrently, the nation's importation metrics reached
approximately $841,000 in monetary value and 441 tons in volumetric
weight during the corresponding timeframe of the previous fiscal
year.
The predominant influx of goods from Kyrgyzstan was characterized
by agricultural commodities and phosphoric acid derivatives.
The bilateral trade volume between the Islamic Republic of Iran and
the Kyrgyz Republic for the specified timeframe reached
approximately $11.9 million and 8,340 metric tons, reflecting a
contraction of 30.2 percent in monetary terms and a decline of 21.6
percent in physical weight relative to the preceding fiscal
year.
Concurrently, Iran's aggregate non-hydrocarbon imports attained a
valuation of $8.47 billion, encompassing an approximate mass of
5.92 million metric tons during the corresponding timeframe.
Despite a contraction of 7.8 percent in the monetary valuation of
non-oil imports relative to the previous fiscal year, there was a
marginal uptick of 1.16 percent in the volumetric weight of these
imports.
Iran maintains a strategic focus on the procurement of critical
commodities vital for national sustenance, concurrently instituting
regulatory frameworks on domestically produced goods to safeguard
indigenous manufacturing sectors.
