BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 21. Iran’s South Pars Gas Company (SPGC) has revealed that more than 17 billion cubic meters of gas were processed at its 8th gas refinery in the past Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through March 20, 2025) and transferred into the national gas grid, Hadi Chabok, director of the refinery told reporters, Trend reports.
Speaking to local media, Chabok also noted that the refinery produced over 19 million barrels of gas condensate. In addition, the facility generated 48,000 tons of butane, 630,000 tons of propane, and 353,000 tons of ethane.
"The company will make every effort to boost production at the refinery throughout the current year," Chabok stated.
To note, the South Pars gas field, jointly owned by Iran and Qatar, processes gas from the 20th and 21st phases of the field at this particular plant. This facility has the capacity to produce up to 50 million cubic meters of sweet gas daily, along with 75 thousand barrels of gas condensate, 400 tons of sulfur, 1.05 million tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and one million tons of ethane annually.
The South Pars gas field (North Dome in Qatar) is a joint Iran-Qatar gas field. It is reported that this field has 51 trillion cubic meters of gas reserves, of which 36 trillion cubic meters can be produced. Iran's share in this field is 14 trillion cubic meters of gas and 18 billion barrels of gas condensate.
